- Writing in Year 2
This week in Year 2, we have been continuing to write our very own stories inspired by Jack and the Beanstalk. We started by reading the traditional tale together and talking about the characters, the magical beanstalk, and the giant’s castle in the clouds. Then we asked ourselves: What if the story happened differently? We thought of new characters, different ways to get to the magical land in the clouds and different items for our character to take back to his Mum. Next week we will complete our stories. We cannot wait to share them with you—each one will be unique, creative, and full of imagination.

- Leap into Science! Testing the Power of the Femur!
In science, we have been investigating whether people with longer femurs can jump further than those with shorter femurs. We carefully measured each person’s femur and then recorded how far they could jump. Everyone really enjoyed the investigation and used lots of the scientific vocabulary we’ve been learning to explain our results. Mr Marshall even helped us refine our jumping technique to make sure it was a fair test!
- We're Going on a Bear Hunt in Nursery
Nursery has had a great time doing activities based on the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’. This included experiencing going through the long wavy grass, the deep cold river, the thick oozy, the big dark forest, the swirling whirling snowstorm and ending in the narrow gloomy cave to find the bear before running all the way back through everything to hide.
- In Year 1 This Week: Retelling the Story of the Annunciation Through Drama
This week in Year 1, we have been bringing the story of the Annunciation to life using drama. The children explored the moment the Angel Gabriel visited Mary, thinking carefully about how each character might have felt. Through acting, they were able to deepen their understanding of this important story while building confidence and creativity. Everyone enjoyed stepping into character, working together, and sharing their scenes with the class.
- Drama in Year 4
This week the children have created a dramatic performance linked to the story of the Lambton Worm, bringing the legendary tale to life with plenty of energy and imagination. They worked together to explore the characters and practise expressive movements. Their enthusiasm shone through as they recreated key moments from the story, from the mysterious discovery of the worm to the heroic final battle. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they performed and shared their hard work with the class.
