  • Black History Month and National Poetry Day in Year 4

To celebrate National Poetry Day and Black History Month, we have enjoyed listening to, and reading, poetry by poet Benjamin Zephaniah.

  • Science in Year 2

Year 2 children became scientists this week, investigating the question: Do our feet get bigger as we get older?  After thinking about the human life cycle and how our abilities change as we grow, pupils discussed whether everyone grows the same amount. They decided to collect two key pieces of data—age and shoe size—and worked in pairs to measure and record. Their findings sparked brilliant conversations about growth, genetics, and individuality. With curiosity and teamwork, our young investigators showed fantastic scientific thinking. A wonderful start to our growing topic—well done, Year 2!

  • RE in Reception

We have come to the end of our RE topic learning all about myself.  We drew pictures of ourselves and wrote our names in our topic books.  We talked about our first name and our family names. We looked at them together, said them out loud then cut them up. Then we had to match our first name and last name. We celebrated our learning with a class liturgy. Learning about yourself—your name, your identity, and how to express it through art and writing—is such an important and fun journey, especially at the start of the school year.

  • National Poetry Day in Year 3

Today we celebrated National Poetry Day with a day full of words, rhythm, and imagination. Our day began with sharing poems that we carefully selected during our reading sessions. Each poem brought something new, some were lyrical and gentle, others sharp and playful, but all of them gave us the joy of hearing poetry read aloud by the class. After listening, we explored the different types of poems we had read. From rhyming couplets to free verse, riddles to narrative poems, we discovered that poetry comes in many forms and styles. This sparked some wonderful conversations about how poets use words to capture emotions, ideas, and even puzzles. To end the day, we shared a riddle poem, leaving everyone with something to think about: The beginning of eternity, The end of time and space, The beginning of every end, And the end of every place. Do you know the answer?

  • Our Talents - Year 5

From artists and chess masters to future television presenters, Year 5 is a talented class full of stars!

  • English Café in Year 1

This week, Year 1 parents had a wonderful opportunity to join their children in the classroom for an English lesson. The children proudly demonstrated how they write sentences and showed off their growing vocabulary skills by using tier 2 words confidently. It was a fantastic way for parents to see firsthand the exciting progress their children are making in literacy. Thank you to all the parents who came along to support and celebrate their child’s learning journey!

  • Mini Foodies Get Creative with Healthy Kebabs

Our Mini Foodies had a fantastic time last night preparing their very own healthy kebabs! With colourful veggies, juicy fruits, and a lot of imagination, the kids chopped, stacked, and assembled their tasty creations — all while learning about making nutritious choices. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork, and pride in their delicious and healthy snacks. Well done, Mini Foodies — we can’t wait to see (and taste!) what you come up with next!

  • Recycling Week

This week is Recycling Week and we have been completing short tasks focused on the theme 'Reuse me' and 'Recycle Me'. Our Early Years and Year 1 children have been creatively reusing household objects in their crafts, learning how this helps reduce waste. The rest of the school have also been thinking about ways they can reuse and recycle both at school and at home. They have talked about how taking care of our environment is important because it is God’s world , a precious gift we must protect. To keep this spirit alive throughout the year, we will be inviting eco-monitors to help lead and promote recycling and reuse efforts. This ongoing commitment reminds us that caring for the environment is a shared responsibility. By reusing and recycling, we show respect and gratitude for the world God has given us. Together, we can make a real difference in preserving our planet for future generations.

  • Stone Age Fun in History!

In History, we’ve been learning about the Stone Age and the different dwellings people lived in. We found out that some Stone Age people lived in caves and painted pictures on the walls to tell stories. To bring this to life, we created our own cave paintings using earthy colours. Some of us painted animals, handprints, or hunting scenes. We had lots of fun and were really proud of our artwork. Our classroom looked like a real Stone Age cave!

  • Nursery

This week in Nursery, the children have been getting ready to ‘write’ by developing both their fine and gross motor skills. We’ve enjoyed reading the stories This is Me  and What Makes Me a Me? , using them as a springboard to talk about what makes each of us special and unique. We've also been singing songs about our bodies and senses to help build awareness and vocabulary in a fun, engaging way. Outdoors, the children have had a fantastic time transporting water to make muddy puddles and working together to create their own obstacle course—great for building strength, coordination, and teamwork!

  • Year 2 – Observational Art with a Fruity Twist!

As part of our focus on looking carefully and thinking sustainably during Recycling Week , Year 2 had a fantastic time using fruit for their observational drawing. We studied the shapes and and textures closely — really noticing the details! Afterwards, we gave the fruit a good wash and enjoyed it as a healthy snack. It was a great way to show how we can reuse materials in creative ways before they go to waste. This links perfectly with our Recycling Week message: "Reuse and then recycle."

  • Construction in Reception

We have been using our large outdoor construction to build a park. We have made a climbing frame, a slide and a seesaw. This is great for our gross motor skills and helps us to develop our language as well as working cooperatively with our friends.
