Year 4 Wraps Up DT Topic with Delicious Seasonal Salad Creations!

Last half term, Year 4 explored the exciting world of seasonal food as part of their Design and Technology lessons. The class worked hard to design, create, and taste their very own seasonal salads, learning all about the different fruits and vegetables that are in season at this time of year.

We researched seasonal ingredients, discovering how the food we eat changes with the seasons. Then we designed our own salads, carefully selecting fresh, locally sourced ingredients that reflect the current season. After putting their creative ideas into action, the students got the chance to prepare and enjoy their tasty creations!

The end result was a colourful array of fresh, seasonal salads, full of vibrant flavours and textures. Not only did the children gain practical skills in cooking and food preparation, but they also learned valuable lessons about sustainability and how our food choices impact the environment.

It was a fantastic, hands-on way for Year 4 to wrap up their DT topic, and a great reminder of the importance of eating fresh, seasonal produce.
