Birthdays - Reception
This week, we have started our exciting new Religious Education topic: Birthdays . To celebrate, we’ve been preparing the classroom for our puppet, Ellie’s birthday! The children have been busy decorating the home corner, creating beautiful birthday cards, and even making birthday cakes with playdough. The Gingerbread Man - Reception
The children are fully immersed in their Gingerbread Man story. We have been retelling the story in our small world area and acting it out outside. We also had great fun baking and decorating our own gingerbread men, and we can’t wait to eat them!

English Café in Reception
We welcomed our Reception parents into school today for our English Café. In the hall, Miss Green talked about the importance of reading to children and the positive impact it has on their vocabulary. Parents were shown how a phonics session works and how it supports children in developing their reading skills as well as learning to write. RE in Reception
On Friday, our Reception children concluded their unit of work on Baptism. We gathered to share what we had learned and celebrated together with a class liturgy. During the liturgy, we began by singing “All Are Welcome” to remind us that Baptism is the time when people are welcomed into the church. Poppies in Reception
This week, we spent time with our buddies creating poppies for our Remembrance liturgy. We used fingerprinting and collage to make each poppy unique and special. As we worked, we talked about why people wear poppies and remembered those who are important to us. We also learned about the armed services and how they help to protect our land, sea, and air. It was a thoughtful way to honour those who have served and to reflect on the importance of peace.

Reception's Visit to Church
Today, Reception had a lovely visit to our local church, St Anthony of Padua. As we walked together, we noticed the beautiful autumn changes – the leaves turning colour and falling to the ground. Music in Reception
This week, Reception have been exploring a range of musical instruments. We have been learning the names of the instruments and how to play and stop them carefully. The children enjoyed experimenting with different sounds, playing their instruments both loudly and quietly.
